How to stop PCB components getting too hot
Excessive heat on a printed circuit board can be caused by many factors including material selection, a poor choice or location of components and inadequate heat management. A good consideration for heat generating components is to use a heat sink or thermal void filler to enable heat to escape directly through the enclosure. A heat sink should never be used without a Void or Gap Filler to aid removal of air gaps, as air is a very poor conductor of heat.
